Van Elias combines music, video, people, spaces, data, programming, sounds, photos, dance, acting, illustrations and animations to create diverse works of art, usually with performative elements and a connection to the here and now.
He plays with the tension between beauty and ugliness, repetition and surprise. This results in strange and exciting works, always with a critical view of current circumstances.
His view of the world is full of anger and melancholy, but also full of hope. He wants to express these emotions through his art.
With audiovisual performances under the name “Van Elias feat. Me” together with colleagues, he was able to captivate audiences in Vienna’s Gürtelbögen. Further collaborations will follow.
Growing up and living in Vienna, he attended a secondary school with a focus on art before beginning his studies as a media creator and technician, which characterizes his work today.
